Reviving European Defense Amid Global Geopolitical Shifts

Donald Trump’s re-election as President of the United States has global geopolitical consequences and poses particularly serious challenges for European security. At a time of great uncertainty for the future of NATO, the EU, transatlantic relations and Ukraine, a new project has been launched:
ALCIDE (Activating the Law Creatively to Integrate Defense in Europe).

ALCIDE, hosted by the Dublin City University Brexit Institute and the Dublin European Law Institute, brings together thought leaders and scholars from across Europe and beyond. ALCIDE is a non-partisan initiative, unaffiliated with any political party or group, and is open to anyone interested in transnational defense cooperation. The initiative seeks to explore the options and constraints of integrating defense in Europe and to advance bold proposals in this area, namely the revival of the European Defence Community.
